Our boy is BIG!!

So I've been measuring pretty close to right on for this whole pregnancy. In fact, I've been very lucky through this whole thing, but I think its all about to catch up with me. At my last dr visit I measured "big" meaning I was 34 weeks preg but measuring as if I was 37 weeks. So my dr sent me to have an ultra sound to see what the deal was. Today we went and had our lil guy checked out to see how far along I measured. The astonished tech told us that our baby's foot is about the size of your index finger (not your pinky). Also, this kid already weighs 7.5 lbs! Are you kidding?! He still has over a month to grow! At this stage the baby will grow about 1/2 lb a week, so you do the math... that makes this at least a 10 lb baby!!!! There's no way. If anyone has any grand ideas on how to induce labor send them my way! (these pictures are not from the above mentioned ultra sound, they are from week 24. The pictures I received today are a blurry mess and you wouldn't be able to tell what anything is because the baby is so large one finger fills up the ENTIRE screen. The tech says that at this stage and due to the size, the pictures are usually undefined.)

Ella was 8 lbs 14 oz!!! She was huge when she was born, but since then she has stayed pretty petite. I think I ate Bacci's Italian the night before I went into labor, and so did EmmaLee. I've heard that drinking castor oil induces labor, but I was way too chicken to try it. I was nervous that I'd make her retarded or her lungs wouldn't be developed. Maybe he's just going to be a cute little chub!

He will be PRECIOUS. What is a couple of pounds anyway when you are already pushing something huge through a small opening. It is amazing how adaptable the body is. You will be fine! I just want him to come right after Marinnes baptism. How about the 16th? I took castor oil with Steven and you. It worked like a charm with Steven, he was born 6 hours later. It didn't work with you, it just gave me stomach cramps. Just talk to the dr at your next appointment and have him induce you a couple of weeks early. BE BRAVE AND ASK HIM!

Haha, that's so exciting/crazy!
In CA there is this pizza place that everyone told me about, and they actually named one of the pizza's labor pizza, cause everyone that eats it goes into labor shortly after. Maybe you could have it shipped to your house!

Sam congratulations on your pregnancy! I can tell you that being a parent is an amazing life changing experience. I have never had more joy in my life! I can relate to a large baby, Makiah was 8 lbs 11 oz..now that's not 10 lbs but it's still up there..so GOOD LUCK!! I found that doing long stints of Dance Dance Revolution really helped the contractions along! Sam, by the way, weren't you like a 10 lb baby?!

Hi! You probably don't remember me - but I saw your comment on my sisters blog and decided to do a little blog hopping! Anyway - I thought it sounded like you needed a little comfort! Both of my girls have been HUGE - my last was 10 lbs 9 oz - and everything went great! I really think that bigger babies are nicer! They have both been angels! Good luck and definitely ask your doctor to strip your membranes in a couple weeks!!

Sorry if you think I'm a total psycho for leaving a comment!! =)

Hi Amy I had to search to see who you were cuz all it says on my comment is Shums. I was so confused but all is good now. But Brittanie my sister didnt tell you her whole story with her 10 lb baby. She had the exact same thing happent to her. she had an ultrasound a couple months before her due date and measured way big too. her dr didnt induce her and she went like almost a week over due. You have to ask to be induced. I had my membranes stripped and had Brayton 2 days later. But do something or you are going to have a huge baby!!! I am so glad you found me. Hope to talk to you soon. by the way how did you find me? sorry this was so long

hey Amy thanks for replying to me. But when are you due? It seriously is not going to hurt if you just ask. The worst your Dr. can say is no. but there is a good chance he/she would say yes. I would so do it!! Let me know what you do.
