jimmy

We love Jimmy Fallon!  I put in for tickets to his show in NYC a couple times and finally got lucky.  A couple of our friends came out for an AMAZING time, even though it rained all day.
After the first hour of trudging through the rain, we caved and bought "touristy" umbrellas

While waiting in line to get into the studio, one of the producers asked if we were huge Jimmy fans.  I thought it was a dumb question, but she invited us to come down onto the stage during the musical guest which was awesome (not so much the musical guest (who's name I can't remember) but being 2inches from Jimmy and on HIS stage)!  We also got to see Will Smith who was hilarious. We had SO much fun!!!

While Sara was in town for Jimmy we went to a few local spots for delicious food and sightseeing.

"graduation"

Sam's schooling is a Master's degree program, with certification to practice as a Physician Assistant.  All this means is that in May he got to wear a cap and gown and walk with the other students in the Graduate School commencement ceremony.  Since he isn't really done until August we called it his fake graduation. It's a huge accomplishment, and I am so proud of all his hard work!

Landon on the other hand, had a very REAL graduation from preschool! I can't believe he is going to Kindergarten.  His teacher is in for a treat!
His class had a "When I grow up..." theme for their graduation.  For some reason I only found out he needed to wear a costume representing his future job a few days before the ceremony. After asking Landon what he wanted to be when he grew up, he replied "A Supercross Racer OR A Food Server at Supercross". In order to encourage the higher of the two goals we went with the former.  I jumped on Ebay and ordered some used MX gear and he was in heaven!

catch up

I love the idea of blogging, especially since I don't journal or scrapbook.  I have 4 yrs worth of books printed (one for each year) from this blog and they are so fun to look at, so I would like to continue! However, the task of blogging has become so obnoxious to me lately. I wish it wasn't, but maybe it's just because I am so overwhelmed with how far behind/ how much I need to catch up. Here is a quick run down of March & April's highlights. Then I promised myself I'd be better at recording our adventures. We will see.

March

We came back to frigid weather.

Landon can't get enough of riding his bike! And no, I don't believe in shoes... even when it's freezing.

Sam's accommodations the week he lived at the hospital.

I don't know why, but I think studio portraits are cheesy! They were having a really good deal and I needed some professional ones taken, so this is what we got (they are much better quality, i was just too lazy to scan them in appropriately).

St. Patrick's day at The Apple Barrel

Our discovery of "shrimp nuggets", Landon's new found love (conveniently located in our grocer's deli)!

Crew's favorite spot, watching Landon and the kids run around in the backyard.

a month in UT

After Sam's 4 week Pediatric rotation, we flew up to Vegas, rented a car and drove to St George for his Urology rotation. On our way out of Vegas we met up with a bunch of Sam's cousins over at Grandpa Bandley's house.  It was so nice to see everyone again! Landon and Crew got to finally meet their Great Grandpa. We stayed with Sam's parents in St George and got to do lots of playing!

We had tons of fun playing with cousins and just hanging out! Thanks to everyone who made our two months out West so fun!
